Recently groups such as Speech First have been portrayed as grassroots associations of concerned citizens hoping to fight against threats to free speech. The New York Times in particular called the group a "student group." However, Daniel Moattar points to the vast money behind these groups that make it unlikely they will lose in the courts when they are challenged. He states: "With its high-powered board and apparently limitless money, Speech First could win this case, and others, too. But the campus culture wars won’t be won in the courts: You can’t litigate students into changing their minds."
